Natal Scheepvaart B.V. is one of the largest publicly listed owners and operators of crude and product tankers, which provide seaborne transportation of crude oil, refined petroleum and other products in international shipping markets. Natal Scheepvaart B.V. owns and operates a fleet of 14 vessels, composed of two segments: Crude Tankers, which includes 3 Suezmax vessels and one Aframax vessel, and Product Tankers which includes 10 medium range (MR) vessels. Natal Scheepvaart B.V. dominates one third of domestic crude oil transportation market share servicing other major domestic Oil Companies. As a national strategic resources, we transport crude oil based on long-term contract with safety in mind service.

Ensuring Safe Cargo Operations & Procedures

Natal Scheepvaart B.V. fleet trades worldwide, to ports and for charterers with the strictest requirements. The vessels and crews are in constant interaction with the shore staff through regular onboard visits, briefing and debriefing sessions upon joining or disembarking, modern communication means and conferences ashore as well as onboard or in-house training sessions. Superintendents, internal and external auditors, customers, as well as national and international regulatory bodies assess vessel and crew performance. Natal Scheepvaart B.V. has excellent relations with all major oil majors. The organization, as well as the vessels, has successfully passed numerous oil major vetting assessments. All services are provided with the ultimate regard for the health, safety, security, environmental and quality standards applicable to the maritime transportation industry as a primary concern. Our Fleet

Natal Scheepvaart B.V sea and shore people collaborate with world-class shipyards to design and build state of the art, eco-friendly vessels that are operated and maintained with safety and reliability constantly in mind, always aiming to satisfy the requirements of charterers and the welfare needs of crew members, while at the same time anticipating future regulatory requirements.

Natal Scheepvaart B.V. vessels are self-built. The company’s engineers take the hulls and install the tanks, engine rooms, controls, loading and unloading machines, cargo heating, tank washing systems and all the other facilities required. Everything is specifically designed for the transport of oils, fats and derivatives. Natal Scheepvaart B.V. has always used steel and stainless steel for constructing tanks and instruments to ensure higher standards of hygiene, more efficient cleaning and increased product quality. The tanks are fitted with hot water heating.

Monitoring Vessel Performance & Chartering Coordination

The tanks are cleaned on the way back from every delivery so that they are available immediately when they reach the next loading port. The high pumping capacity (300 – 600 m3/hour) and design of the tanks ensure fast loading and unloading of cargo. The crews work according to a schedule of one week on, one week off. This means Natal Scheepvaart B.V. can guarantee availability 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. All vessels are equipped with the latest navigation, communication and computer systems.
